Thanks! What a cool crew of musicians. Not too many smiles. Everyone must have been concentrating on making the music.
The last two photos won't download for me, Stacey and Cathe. I don't know if it's dial-up slowness or some other problem.

Much Mahalo for sharing the pictures! Wow! All of you look great! And talk about some really nice guitars. Like Ed, I too am jealous, and sad that I couldn't be there to join in with all of you for a an unforgettable moment of "Kiho'alu". One thing tho...Relax! Feel the music...Hear the melody of the song you are playing in your mind-set....try not to press too hard....take your time ,and just have alot of fun. To play "Kiho'alo" one needs to be relaxed with shoulders loose, hands and fingers limber, and not tense. Try it! You'll be amazed how much better and comfortable it'll feel. Most importantly, play a style that is yours! A Hui Hou!

Aloha! Cool Pix, Jerry! & Thanks for all the tips, slackkey Bill! Well, we must have all just put on our concentration faces for the pictures because I remember loads of smiles. Thanks again for a great time everybody! This was my first experience of this kind and I was nervous. I promise, I'm practicing and will do better next time! |

I love looking at other people's pics. Makes me smile I find this kanikapila very cool. Where da beer and pupus? I once loaned my guitar to a friend (I won't mention his name but he played it upside down)at a gathering on the North Shore of Oahu right after he finised eating some dried "aku". Never do that for anyone! Great pics, mahalo for sharing them. |

Aloha Ahiahi Stacey!
Being nervous is normal for ones first time. I remember my nervous moment...When it came to my turn...Oh boy! I was nervous and with clumsy fingers to boot! Never give up, don't worry if you made mistakes! Making mistakes helps you practice more. Persistance is the key to improve your "Slack Key Stylings".....But above all else helps to build up self-confidence. Practice! Practice! Practice! Here's another advice....Place your guitar where you'll be able to see it....This way, rather than leaving it in it's guitar case, when you walk by you'll pick it up and play. You go girl!

Aloha Kakahiaka slackkey Bill! Mahalo for the advice and encouragement! Yes, I do leave my guitar out of it's case, on a stand, so that I can just pick it up at any spontaneous moment. I have really been letting go of the chores around the house to play slack key instead. Oh well ~ all that stuff will still be there whenever I get around to it...
