Just wanting to give everyone a heads-up about the first ever, soon to be annual, Wine Country `Ukulele Festival to be held in the beautiful Napa Valley October 9 - 11. Instructors and performers include: James Hill, Herb Ohta, Jr., Keoki Kahumoku, Konabob, Ralph Shaw, Robyn Mahealani, Liko Puha, and more.
You can read more about it on our website: www.winecountryukefest.com. This is the most beautiful time of year here and we're expecting to sell out early......
We are also looking for performers for our Saturday daytime concert...if you'd like to be considered for 10 - 15 minutes of fame, in lieu of an audition perhaps you could post your "act" on You Tube and give us the link.
Hope to see you there.

Looks like I'll be missing another great 'Ukulele Festival. What a great line up you have there. I really like Herb Ohta, Jr. and how he teaches the 'ukulele. What a talent!

Elaine, I'll send it to the entire Ukulele Society of America. By-the-way, I sold all 74 of the Kani-Ka-Pila Klips in 30 minutes at one of our weekly kanikapilas (kept one for myself). |

Aloha Elaine,
This sounds like a barrel full of fun! Is there an RV park or campground nearby, we could take our RV.
Hugs, Julie |

YES! YES! YES! How cool would it be to have a couple of party animals like you at the festival? And there is a state park with camp sites just down the road: one of the best-kept secrets in the Napa Valley: www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=477 It's a busy time of year up here (crush) so book your site ASAP.

Hey Julie,
I just checked on availability at Bothe, which is in spitting distance of where the evening festivities will be, and they do have availability. Like I said, you should book, now. http://www.reserveamerica.com/campsiteCalendar.do

I'll post a schedule as soon as we have one ironed out. We do know that all of the workshops (with the exception of Keoki Kohumoku's Cooking Class) will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 9 - 5 and they will each last an hour and 15 minutes. It's also looking as though we may be adding more instructors as word gets out.

P.S. If anyone has ever cooked with Keoki before, they know what an exhiliarting experience it is going to be! |

Aloha Everyone. Thanks for all the positive response. I now have a more accurate Schedule of Events and a Registration Form for people to fill out. Unfortunately I'm not sure when I'll be able to update the website! In the meantime, if you send me an email, I can attach it to a reply...very lo-tech. We're expecting Cooking with Keoki and the `Ukulele Luau to sell out very quickly. So if you're interested in either of those options, you need to get your applications in soon.
If you want to try the website first: www.winecountryukefest.com
Hope to see you there.

So Elaine,
If we don't take the RV, that Party Mobile, then we will have to look for a hotel or such. Do you have any recommendations for hotels near the action? (Just so we don't have too much fun and try to drive long distances...)
Have you recovered form Lark Camp yet???
