Hey all. Time for this month's Open Mic. I am unable to attend so I thank Lawrence for taking my place.

See you on Sunday, August 17. 4:00 to 6:00 PM at:
Mission City Coffee Roasting Co,
2221 The Alameda, in Santa Clara

Take The Alameda, north, off of 880 and it's about two long blocks on your left (just before the Alameda makes the big swing around Santa Clara University)

Signups will be at 3:30 PM and the first act will be at 4:00.

Thank you once again to Mission City, Thriving Artist's and Sun Jose Hawai`i for sponsoring this event, and especially to those of you who continue to share your music.

Mahalo,

Dave

Don't know if I'll be able to make this one. My stepson has a soccer tournament in Vallejo this entire weekend...

We're going out of town - our first weekend trip with Kevin - hoping the weekend won't qualify for a John Belushi-Dan Akroyd movie script.

I'm planning to go. I missed the past couple of open mics, so it will be great to see everyone and try out some new material. Hopefully the new 3rd-Sunday-of-every-month date is more convenient and will encourage new performers and audience members to attend.

Next to Led and Mike Kaawa's free Bay Area concerts and last Sunday's free Na Leo Pilimehana, Kaukahi, Ernie Cruz, and One Right Turn concert at Stern Grove, this open mic is still the best Hawaiian entertainment value for the money!

Even if you don't plan on performing, bring your instrument anyway, since there's often impromptu kanikapila (usually beforehand).

Aloha,

Doug

As Dave indicated I will fill in for the host duties this time.

I will also bring a few items to raffle or give away, including
some John Pearse Slack Key string sets.

Sunday offers an easier drive and easier parking as well.

See you there!... Or be square?
