Reminder ---
HERB OHTA, JR., one of the finest `ukulele players in the Hawaiian tradition, is coming to the Pacific Northwest for a series of shows.
Portland - Saturday, October 4 (Community Music Center)
Port Townsend - Sunday, October 5 (Upstage Restaurant) - great opportunity for all those west-of-the-water folks who want more Hawaiian music on that side of the sound
SEATTLE - Monday, October 6 (The Triple Door) - along with Grammy Award winning slack key guitarist Keoki Kahumoku.
Hope to see a lot of folks at these shows (Momi & I will be at both the Port Townsend and Seattle ones). More details are at www.hawaiimusiclive.com

Wow! The Port Towsend gig was GREAT! I got a whole new appreciation for the uke. And what a surprise - Herb Ohta, Jr. dragged our very own Gregg and Momi onto the stage and played the instrumental verses of Koke'e alternating with our duo strumming and singing it in a lovely harmony. I never suspected your artistry behind that modest exterior!
All in all, a cozy, intimate atmosphere that made for a great venue. Well done, Susie Kagami, in getting that to happen. I hope you put some of it on YouTube. Especially Herb's version of "Wonderful World."
Thanks all for a marvelous evening!

| Speaking of folks who ought to be on YouTube ... Mark fails to mention that he was also onstage that night, as there was an "open mic" segment prior to the show - and he performed two numbers on guitar, silencing the room as everyone paid rapt attention to the gentle beauty of his music. |
