Here's the Pakele Live! schedule for Oct/early Nov. - all are confirmed, but stuff happens, so sometimes things change at the last minute!
Oct. 9 (tomorrow!) - Del Beazley (with Dwight Kanae, Kimo Bell, Bryan Tolentino, and Willy Aki). Should be a really fun show - Del's really funny, and is booked for the full two hours (6-8 pm, HST).
Oct. 16 - Vaihi (6-8 pm, HST)
Oct. 23 - Mel Amina & 3 Scoops of Aloha (6-8 pm HST)
Oct. 30 - Natalie Ai Kamauu - this is a NOT TO BE MISSED show! It's a 3 hour combo CD release/birthday party, and Nat will have a bunch of guests - folks who've helped her out with her new release: Maunalua, KUmZ, Aaron Sala, her dad (Howard Ai), and there will be hula (her mom, of course, and probably her kids and others). Her hubby EO and brother Chad are her band, so a big night for ohana, a zillion friends will be there, and who knows who else might show up!
Nov. 6 - Ka Hula O Ululani (from Japan) 6-7 pm PALI (7-8 pm) (I think PALI is also playing for the halau in the first hour...)
Nov. 13 - KAPALA
Nov. 20 - MIGHT be Daniel Ho[/b] (don't know if we have final confirmation yet)
Here are the links to watch live online: http://www.pakelelive.com/ or http://www.alohavideo.tv/index_live.htm
News on the Pakele Live! with Tony Solis tv show: You can still watch live online whenever OC16 is airing the show, and they're planning to increase the number of times it airs each week to approx. 9 (so it'll be easier for you to watch it, no matter what part of the world you live in!), and they may add it to the "OC16 on demand" channel. The new show for the week starts every Weds. night at 7 pm HST. It's only a half hour, but still fun.
Tonight's show is Jon Yamasato, David Kamakahi, and Darin Leong, from their Aug. 28 appearance. That was a great show - Jon was on his game that night - sooo funny! (You saw that one, Andy - I remember you emailed in with another suggestion for the band names Jon kept making up...)
Check the OC16 listings on their website for the other days/times. The schedule for the next few days is Weds at 7 pm, Thurs at 1 am and noon, Sat at 6:30 pm, and Sun at 12:30 am and 3:30 pm (all HST)
A hui hou!

I believe Andy's suggested band name was "Fried Saimin." The current favorite name is "Fat Pua`a." Alternate name is "Three Geeky Asian/Hawaiian Guys with Instruments." Suggestions welcome.
Thanks Lynn! |

'A'ole pilikia!
Yup - Fried Saimin was Andy's! Check with Lisa for sure, but I think one of the favorites that night (at least of those of us sitting by DJ at the sound board?) was "Puka Panties"...
What was the one that had you and Dave doubled over laughing??? |

Given the group's combined weight, "fat" may not be appropriate. So perhaps "Phat Pua'a". You guys are dope, yo. |
