I've been struggling with Auntie Edna Bekeart's beautiful song "Ginger Memories". I would love to be able to sing that to her when we next meet in June. Does anyone know the chords to this song? I have the lyrics, and I am trying to work out the chords but I hit a snag when I get to the second sentence. (What does that say about my musical abilities, huh?)
Whatever, I am not too proud to ask for help....

Most men don't know what they like. But, poor Julie, we digress. |

WELL!
I wish I were perky like Mary Ann, but....
Keith, Auntie Edna's nephew is in a group named Pa'ahana (Pakala Fernandes and Doug Tolentino), they have this song on their CD, but one can only buy it directly from them at one of their gigs. I believe they may be playing at the Moana Surfrider, but don't know exactly when. They also played it at George's camp one year at the nightly kani ka pila, and I'm trying to locate my recording of them.
(The Moana was my favorite hotel for some years before they remodeled the place, I used to be able to get the kama'aina rate and get the ocean front room for mere dollars. No air-conditioning, just open that window wide and listen to the ocean.)

The song -- performed by Lani Sang & The Poi Boys (!!) -- is on the CD entitled "Happy Hulas for Your Lu`au". No details in the liner notes as to original dates of the various recordings included on it, but I'm guessing 1950s or so... |
