Just saw this at www.hapa.com. Anyone know if this is the original Hapa or a new grouping of musicians?
quote: HAPA will be performing for a limited engagement at Chai's Island Bistro at Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Beginning April 18 through June 6, HAPA will be performing every Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Call Chai's Island Bistro for reservations: 808-585-0011 www.chaisislandbistro.com

One of the local entertainment reporters announced awhile back that Keli`i Kaneali`i had relinquished his rights to the "Hapa" name -- and that Barry Flanagan would be pairing with Nathan Aweau in a new musical partnership. At that time, the new name had not yet been finalized -- kinda odd (and potentially confusing) that Barry would just stay as "Hapa" instead of "Hapa 2" or something.
Nathan Aweau is no newbie -- he's a singer/composer/guitarist who has been performing with Don Ho for years, and has released his own solo CDs, too. Most recent was an _excellent_ Hawaiian release, "E Apo Mai". Listen to that CD's intro track, and you'll why Barry chose him! http://www.mele.com/v3/info/2259.htm

The "New Hapa" was on one of the Honolulu TV stations this morning -- now comprised of 3 musicians: Nathan Aweau, Ernie Cruz Jr., and Barry Flanagan.
