From today's Honolulu Advertiser, this year's entries for the Merrie Monarch have been announced. The MM begins on Wed 4/15, followed by 3 nights of competition -- with an awesome lineup of talented halau hula. We had a small taste this weekend of Auntie Mapuana De Silva and her dancers at the luau Saturday night. Watching a whole festival of Halau of that level must be more wonderful than I can immagine. Paul |

I'll be watching this year's Merrie Monarch that's for sure. I watch the Merrie Monarch every year. This year have a great line up.

Reichel has often joked about it being only a matter of time before a halau performs in their birthday suits in the name of authenticity. Wouldn't that be interesting? |
