Just a reminder that Ku'uipo Kumukahi and the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Serenaders (Dr. Isaac Akuna, Kimo Stone, & Joe Winchester) will be on this week's Pakele Live! with Tony Solis on OC 16 TV (or watch online on their website).
If you missed seeing this show when it was on live, they performed songs from their album "Na Lani 'Eha." Each of the songs on that album was written by a member of the royal family - Queen Lili'uokalani, Princess Likelike, King Kalakaua, and Prince Leleiohoku.
An Auntie (who was born and raised here but who now lives on the mainland) was here visiting me at the time of the original concert, and she loved hearing the beautiful renditions of these songs she grew up with - and meeting all the musicians afterwards!
The shows air 6 or more times each week, on various days and times. Each new show airs beginning on Wednesday at 7 p.m. HST (unless preempted by local sports programming).
