The Patrick Landeza Project will be performing in Berkeley next week. He's joined by his ensemble—featuring steel guitarist Patti Maxine, acoustic bassist Matt Bohn, and Rhan Wilson on percussion—for an evening of traditional Hawaiian music and slack key, with a touch of bluegrass and swing replete with Patrick's warm aloha spirit and outrageous stories . .. and of course, there will be hula!
This is Patrick's first Bay Area appearance of the year so come out and tell your friends! (no telling when he'll be performing again!)
What: The Patrick Landeza Project Hawaiian Slack Key and Beyond!
When: Friday, May 15 8:00pm
Where: Freight and Salvage Coffee House 1111 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA
Ticket price: $18.50 advance / $19.50 door Ticket/info line: (510) 548-1761 www.thefreight.org For additional information contact Jennifer Quinto at (510) 452-4266 or email at landezapresents @ gmail.com www.patricklandeza.com

WOW WOW WOW,
Patti Maxine is THE QUEEN OF STEEL, Matt Bohn is THE Bass luthier, and a heck of a nice guy (he fixed Larry's stand-up bass), Rhan Wilson is a kick on percussion, guitar and voice! How can this show with Patrick get any better? Hey Patrick, you go! Glad you are feeling up to performing.
And the 15th is my birthday! Maybe I can hubby to take me out on the town, but Berkeley is a long drive from our redwood mountain home. Sigh...

Holy crap! I never made the connection before! I played a gig with her a couple years ago, at the opening of a furniture shop run by a friend of hers, down in south Seattle. I had no idea who she was, but she just stunned me with her playing.
I found one YouTube clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wUNBaQRIJ4 - seems I had posted about it before: http://www.taropatch.net/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=6351 |

Patti is just awesome. She gets invited to sit in with lots of people that come though our area. Eddie Kamae, Cyril Pahnui, John Cruz come to mind.
Patti is a treasure that all of us in the Santa Cruz area just love with all our hearts. |

Patti is AWESOME! I can't wait, the whole crew is a different ensemble and it should be very interesting! Yes Gregg..she was in Seattle and she'll be with me in Seattle in July...I absolutely love steel..we need to take advantage of these steel players and there talents..from Bobby Black to Sally Van Meter, Northern California is very fortunate..
Hope to see you all there, only planned one show, last time performing at the "old" Freight, my home!
Wanda and Paul..start driving and you can make the show by next week!
Aloha,
Patrick |

Hi All: I am meeting a couple of other TaroPatchers at Patrick's performance. Maybe we can set up a taropatch in the coffee house. Les |

Hey Patrick,
We have to be in Tacoma/Seattle area sometime this summer for estate purposes. Can you tell us when you'll be there, maybe we can make this a somewhat coordinated effort!
Hugs, Julie

There are some videos up on You Tube of the performance at the Freight & Salvage. Oh, it sure got Auntie crying. If you can watch him sing Ka Lae o Ka`ena without blubbering like a baby, I don't know how. One of the sweetest things I have ever heard/seen. http://www.youtube.com/user/LandezaPresents
Those of you who had a chance to see this in person, how lucky you are.
