           	| I've been playing with a group for last year or so, and it's been a wonderful experience. Shaun Gavigan, from Kula, Maui, and Ikaika Lancaster from out Kohala way on the Island of Hawai`i are our two vocalists. They both play `ukulele as well. Michael Keubler plays rhythm guitar and introduced me to the others. We've recently been joined by a bass player, Colin Stanley, from East Samoa by way of New Zealand. The music we play is heavily influenced by the Makaha Sons of Ni`ihau and the Sons of Hawai`i.
We have the beginnings of a web site at http://www.kawili.com

Our official debut will be on Saturday, May 9, at the May Day festival presented by the Kumu Hula Association of Northern California.

We will be closing the show on Saturday, playing from 5 PM to 6 PM. The event features halau and bands, food and crafts, all the fun of a fair with a Hawaiian flair. Please join us if you can.

                      | Eh, Fran. That sounds way swell. You guys got any You Tube vids for us who are far away to listen?
Here's wishing you plenty of fun and success.

                      | Hey Fran,
I thought Kawili's official debut was opening for Patrick's Christmas concert? You guys were da bomb! Knock-em dead tomorrow and send my aloha to the rest of the band--I bumped into Mike at the free Riatea concert at Gordon Biersch S.F. a few weeks back.

 Aloha,
 Doug
