Yes! Lyrics are there for both tunes. Think I may take "E Huli" with me to Big Island for Aloha Camp. It's called "E Huli Makou" @ Huapala. Nice and easy....great hula tune!

Howdy all, as we say in Oregon -
I'm new, too. And very happy to be a part of this wonderful community.
I'm curious as to how some of you approach the playing behind your singing: chords, repeated riffs, pattern picking, harmony lines to the voice?
Cheers,
Mark

Aloha Slack Key Lady!
Hey! "Wai Hui O Ke Ani Ani" is a great up-beat jam, one of my favoites! BTW! What is your tuning that you use? I kiho'alu mostly in Taro Patch. I do time to time try to kiho'alu in the C-tuning.
But "Wai Hui O Ke Ani Ani" is alot of fun in Taro Patch. Oh before I forget, I come from HawaiiMusicians.com! I just recently joined the gang here on TaroPatch.net. I was surprised to know that a couple of them I've met before here on the Island Of Maui (Sarah & Reid).
Well hey have fun! And always remember to 'JUS PRESS! A Hui Hou!

I'm running around O`ahu for a day and look at all the activity.
Slack Key Lady, I'm honored to have you here! You too Mark! I look forward to seeing you both at Kalani Honua.
I went to the symphony last night performing with Keali`i Reichel. Will write more about that when I get a chance.

Aloha Kakahiaka! Thanks for such a nice welcome and nice to see our 'crossover' people here from HawaiiMusicians.com. When I learned Wai O Ke Aniani, I played it in C tuning...CDGDBE. When I play with my friend John, he leads the tune and we play it in G. I use a GDGDBE tuning. It is possible to switch keys in the song, but unless I retune in the middle, I lose my D bass (going from the 'C' part to the 'G') so I usually don't go there. It's a good excercise tho'. I hope to have a 'wild' instrumental version of "Sassy" on my next record where I retune in the middle of the piece. I'm getting ready to go to the Big Island and I am really hoping to make a difference in someone's (anyone's) love affair with playing slack key. I am running on faith that I will be able to open up to the 'vibes' and go where I need to go and not get too caught up with technicalities and tabs ....or not go far enough into those things to be helpful. We will be a mixed group....different levels, preferences, and styles......I am going to ask for your help in a new topic forum.....any and all suggestions are welcome. MAHALO!!!!!

Aloha Slack Key Lady!
It's jus me....Slack Key from da Home Station. So you stay looking fo one wild instrumental version of "Sassy". I normally play it in Taro Patch (small-kine). Then I began thinking about dropping the G-string (Punahele tuning), and began just strumming the tune until I could hear the lyrics in my head while just strumming! It sounded like a mellow upbeat basa/jazz influenced "Sassy". Anyways, try see if you could use one amature's theory of da jam! Or maybe you already wen try it! Oh well! Me....I 'JUS PRESS!!!!!! A Hui Hou!
