Just wanted to introduce myself. I've only been playing slack key for a short time, so my playing is... uh... rough. I've been playing electric guitar for about 17 years off and on. The first time I heard Ledward play, I immediately wanted to pick up my guitar again after about 7 years of not playing regularly. I've also picked up playing ukulele as well. I'm glad to be back to playing. I didn't realize how much I missed it.
Howzit, Joe! Welcome to Taro Patch. Make sure you check out the month kanikapila: Waimea Valley Kanikapila on the third Sunday of each month and the Bishop Museum Kanikapila on the last Sunday of each month. Both start with sound check at noon. Admission to the kanikapila is free but if you want to do more than play music, you need to buy tickets for both Waimea Valley Park and/or the Bishop Museum. These are family friendly gatherings hosted by the 2-time Na Hoku nominated Abrigo `Ohana. Garanz you will find SirDuke at one or another of them. If you need someone to teach you, you may want to consult with Duke about that. He's a wonderful teacher (and an all-round swell guy, too).
