This is one big happy event, or so I have been told... This will be my first, and I am really looking forward to it. Thousands of Ukulele lovers, players, makers, and assorted Hawaiian cultural events.
Keep an eye on: http://www.ukulelefestival.org/page3.html Information is not up on the web site just yet, but should be available soon. It is not too early to start making plans.
I will be teaching 'Taro Patch Bass" on my Kona Walkingstick, and I know that Brittni, Herb Ohta Jr, Keoki Kahumoku, Bill Tapia, and others will be performing. A luau with hula performances are also planned.
Aloha, -Konabob

LOOKS interesting.
Nice sound from such a small stick. Almost makes me want to pick up bass along with guitar and ukulele |

Give 'em, brah! Nothing holds a group of musicians together like a good bass. I have noticed that ukulele groups in particular, just love to have me show up with my bass. Anyway, if you are a slack key guy and play in Taro Patch G, you already know how to play the 3 string. Show up at the Festival, and I will make you an instant slack key bass player. I will also be over in Honolulu at the statewide Ukulele Guild of Hawaii Expo in November - if you needed an excuse to come to Hawaii... Aloha, -Konabob |

Nancy, Nice to see you back on the 'patch. I have a ukulele kanika(pizza) tonight (quite a messy sight - playing with pizzas) and may be able to get more information than is available on the web site. The San Diego Ukulele Festival is in Coronado on the 27-28 with Daniel Ho giving some workshops. More information on that one is available on another forum topic.
