Just got the list of confirmed performers for Kauai's 2008 "E Kanikapila Kakou" series. Starting at 6pm, with instruction -- be it uke, guitar or whatever -- followed at 7pm by the kanikapila session (which always includes singing and hula!). More dates and names will be added, but here's what's official, thus far:
Monday, January 21 – KAUKAHI
Monday, January 28 - KEOLA ALALEM & Friends (Kaua`i musicians)
Monday, February 11 - ANTHONY NATIVIDAD
Monday, February 18 – PUAMANA
Monday, February 25 - KEALA CHING & ROLINDA BEAN
Monday, March 3 - NAPUA GREIG
Monday, March 10 - KAWIKA SPROAT & friends (Kaua`i musicians)
Monday, March 24 - OZZIE KOTANI & DANNY CARVALHO
Monday, March 31 - PAUL TOGIOKA & friends (Kaua`i musicians)
6pm every Monday night from end of January through early April -- held at Island School in Puhi. Free, but donations to keep this grand event running, can be given at the door.
