Aloha Kakou
Greetings fellow members of the Oahu Hawaiian kanikapila network. We regret to inform everyone that the May Bishop Museum Kanikapila has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts with the Bishop Museum's festivities for their "Family Day" They had a change over at the event co-ordinator position recently & were unable to get things situated & organized to run both events in conjunction with one another. Rest assured that both the Waimea Valley & Bishop Museum kanikapilas will resume as scheduled for the month of June.
Please take note that your regular kanikapila hosts The Abrigo Ohana were more than willing to host the Bishop Museum Kanikapila as scheduled despite having plans to attend the Na Hoku Hanohano awards banquet immediately following the kanikapila. It was going to be a tight & stressful itinerary to do both but as a testament to their dedication to this ongoing kanikapila series they all felt obligated to do it. Please join me in wishing them the best of luck with their multiple nominations for the current Na Hoku Hanohano awards. They are already winners in my book.
Warmest Aloha Always The Abrigo Ohana Big Tim Lanet Timi Emily Quinn

Howzit Duke,
Mahalo for the link to the May kanikapila video. It was great to see our Alameda, CA kanikapila buddy Lauren J. and her keiki joining you all--Bay Area represents! She even went dress up for you guys. Classy yeah? :) I didn’t see you in the video—were you playing hooky?
I’m assuming Mama Abrigo (Lanet) filmed and edited the video, and she did a great job as usual. Wow, Quinn is getting real good--I loved that Uncle’s smile when Quinn took the pa’ani. Also, recognized that old Pearl City uke player to the left of Quinn.
Have fun at today’s Father’s Day kanikapila. We have our own one today at The Cue in Concord.
Happy Father’s Day! Doug

Hey Doug
A belated Happy Father's Day to you too. Bummers I missed your friends from Cali at the May Waimea Valley Kanikapila. I haven't been to Waimea in a long while, no transportation. Bishop Museum on the other hand is literally walking distance from my place so I gotta be content with only attending that one |
