http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0Gfjc_BOaY – Here is a fun thing. Someone wants to know names of 5 songs they liked from days past but cannot remember the names. This person must not know about Taro Patch or surely they would have come to our TP `ohana for assistance. Who knows what these songs are? Now I am curious, too.

Hawaiian music at NW Folklife Festival 2009 – Some have Da Oddah Guyz, some have Mark Nelson and Jack Aldrich; and you may spock who knows who and who knows what. I think Lee was a swell videographer and is so kind to record them and make them available for us to watch. I also think Lee likes that Tahitian-style hula. Mahalo, Lee.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEOL6eNaFxI – one of Lee’s videos of Brother Noland singing Ka Ipo Lei Manu.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Fmfo6-VXXY – Brother Noland at the Leadbelly Tribute - video by someone else, but put up by Mountain Apple. I wonder if Leadbelly be turning over in his grave about a Leadbelly tribute. He’s probably sing Bourgeoisie Blues. Wonder how many folks was playing 12 string guitars? Leadbelly was THE man on 12 string.

Jesse Tinsley – who must know more songs than anyone I know. And he uses them well, doesn’t he. Jesse – you da man.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BXdH-rMHEk – Sophisticated Hula

Hookani – Brother Derek has put up some really fine videos. You may have seen them already, but Auntie no kea. They are worth hearing over and other.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuN7YGsXZSc – Palehua
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU7DMEafRs0 – Teitei Te Reva
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dNJNaNVQhg – Ka`aahi Kahului
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkkKvIcH0CM – Ka Lehua i Milia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLGeCyKC-Jc – A local cooking show giving some nice recipes, but also featuring Maunalua. Its in two parts. Here is part two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7s3wOBngYs&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfYTgrKiRe4 – Here is Keonepax’s latest `ukulele film “Mad World”.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzp0i2hEuPI –Ryan Tang with an `ukulele tutorial for “Puamana”. Don’t forget to check out PlayHawaiianMusic.com

Hey Hello!
I just found out you posted this here, and I wanted to say thank you! I'm the person who wanted to know, and I really was pleasantly overwhelmed by the response at YouTube... and who knows, maybe your posting helped! and so... Mahalo!

I hope you did have fun and satisfied your curiousity too. There's really only one left to go... #4. I am not sure I'll ever be able to locate #2 and I'm trying to live with that, but I'd *really* love to find and buy that #4 song... I posted the whole thing here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLJF1vLBub4 but it's rough quality, and I'd feel much better buying a clean one on CD or even LP, however it was released.

I've searched all the records of "Brothers and Sisters" and even called their promoter, and I'm not sure that's the band at this point. One of the songs I had been chasing as an Osorio/Borden song all these years (Bottles & Cans) turned out to be a Ron Kuala'au song.

I've written to L. D. Reynolds many times, but despite his being a GREAT internet D.J. and statement that he answers email, he never has... and I am pretty sure I heard this song on his show, Hawaiian Jamz... :/

If anyone thinks they might know this song, I humbly place it at your capable ears to listen... and hopefully someone will get that light bulb over their heads to say, "that's it!!"

Mahalo again, and best wishes!

Aloha e Tropix -- How cool that you found Taro Patch. I meant to write to you through You Tube and invite you to Taro Patch, because I felt you might be able to use some of the mana`o and expertise found here. It looks like our Taro Patch folks did help you, with my hanai brother, Duke, being the first to respond to you. I thought that was an interesting challenge for the experts here, and looks like plenty of folks helped. Me, I did not know a single one of those songs. Thanks to you, I am learning a broader range of music. Thanks.

And welcome teo Taro Patch. Glad you joined us and decided to talk story. Come talk more.

^__^ Excellent!
I am also (as you are) away from the islands more than I wish to be, these days. Spent a lot of time there in the 1990s though, and really got to love the resurgence of music there! Shortly after that, internet radio made it possible to enjoy some of that online (thank goodness!) and I mostly listened to Hawaiian Jamz and Internet Radio Hawaii, and sometimes KINE 105, and there's a public radio station too, that name of which I can't recall at the moment.
When I heard something I liked, I could buy it online from Tower Records Honolulu, or Borders Hawaii.
I've been to Oahu, Kauai and Maui the most, but I'd love to visit the Big Island soon.. hopefully within the next decade! :D
