Singing “More”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3kIsPWllbM – Auntie Diana singing “La Elima” – one of the most beautiful, sad, happy songs ever, and well, aside from Iz, no one can do it like her. I think it is her familiy’s mele. This has been up on You Tube for a while, but I love it. And at the end, Iz says, OK, I can die now. Yikes. Videos from our `ukulele ensemble (SUPA) performing at Seattle's "Live Aloha" festival yesterday are up at http://www.youtube.com/seattleukulele
I led the group for this show...and I fear that is me dancing "`Ulupalakua," joined by my friend T.C. In "Wahine `Ilikea," the dancer in the middle is my mother, who came in to town for the weekend to celebrate her 80th birthday; she's been dancing hula for about a year and a half.
(TP'ers Noeau & Baritone appear in some of these as well - over to the left side.) |
