Bo Diddley . I just do not believe that there were a bunch of teeny-bopper white girls screaming over Bo Diddley. I just don’t believe it. I mean these are the same kids who would have screamed for Herman’s Hermits.

George Carlin (and a little bit Perry Como) on Hawaiian History – Cook’s “discovery” of Hawai`i. Watch it until the end….that is swell.

Radio Hula, but the way it is sung like from Uluwehi Guererro or Atta Damasco, not the normal slack key version that people are used to hearing. I think also Jesse Tiinsley has the vocal version on You Tube.

Eh, Wanda. When I see Alan Akaka this week, I'll show him the videos. Alan is the steel for the latest Hawaii Calls incarnation. As for the unseen steel in Hi'Ilawe, in 1965, it could have been Billy Hew Lin or Barney Isaacs, or maybe his dad, Alvin. I think Jules Ah See was gone by then, but that's who I think is playing steel and singing lead with McIntyre.

Listen to Jack. "When I see Alan Akaka later this week..." Wow.

Here is a late addition to the list. Fran Guidry has posted some mighty fine music and a really well-made video.

Wanda,

Thanks for posting Dennis Pavao – Mi Nei. What a tease, though. I always click the links hoping for video, but alas I will enjoy the audio track.

That would be Hal Aloma during the days that Lani McIntyre played at The Lexington Hotel
