Hi -

Welcome to the 'Patch. Lots of great resources here.

You might check in with Ray Frank over in Davis. Ray's not part of Taropatch, so snoop around at a couple of local music stores or --- wonder of wonders--try the phone book to find him.

He is a terrific guitarist and teacher and a gentle human being. Tell him I said that, too. Might be good for a laugh.

If you really want to learn, start saving and come to one of the great music camps in Hawaii. You'll find details elsewhere on the 'patch.

I suppose I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my online video lessons. Details on my website: www.mark-o.com

Aloha, Fred. Don't forget YouTube as a good learning source. You get to actually watch the folks play, freeze frame, repeat, etc.

Hi, fred-

Last year Patrick Landeza taught a once-a-month class up in Sacramento. I don't know if he's still going up there, but he does still teach at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley-- a couple hours' drive for you.

Also don't forget the kanikapila in Vacaville the second Sunday of each month (look in "Kanikapila Forum" on this board).
