Aloha! Karl,
A waitress who lives in Peru, Who’s website I haven’t a clue. Has lost her long plume, In San Cho Lee’s room. But a new feather duster will do.
So if you decide to go by, And the sparkle is still in her eye Then give her the duster, And if you still lust her, Present her a cold lychee pie.
So long as you’re not in a haste, And the date seems a terrible waste, Don’t run back to the cold You still have a goal, Stick your face in the pie, take a taste!

Sounds like you have a plethora of fine culinary restaurant’s. Chinese, Thai, Italian Mexican and an All American Wendys, Thumb’s up, Duuuude!
Aloha, Steve

I have a hard time with your rhymin' It ain't quite as good as Paul Simon And if that is your best Then you'll not pass the test To get on the stage at the Ryman
But here you don't need great credentials Just a guitar, a PC and some mentals To jaw with the rest (the worst and the best) Of us junkies too old to have dentals |

Good one Karl!
To you my rhymes are so sloppy Just like your broken jalopy If you don’t like my rhymes Then think of the times When it was YOU that was shootin' the poppy.
We thought that your music was clever, And Woodstock was quite an endeavor But Puff the old Dragon Fell off of the wagon Singing “Rawrerry Rields Rowever”
I heard of your days when elephants flew, It was pretty funny when you tried it too, You appeared in a daze Through that purplish haze Near the crash site that’s named after you.
So I’m sorry your teeth are a missin, It must be a hard time just kissin, But we’ll watch for the snake When you try to make a whistle but end up a hissin’.

Uncle Karl! That must mean you found em in supah mahket! Can also use them in sweet and sour dishes for a very different flavor than pineapple - no use green peppah wit dat. I like 'em best chilled - try em wit shin yen dofu.... almond jello... I have recipe somewhere. nice light dessert when you already ate way too much. When you coming down? auntie

Aloha eh = Green peppah too shtrong a flavor for gentle lychee. also use a little rice wine vinegah. no can eat Pineapple.... allergic. Long ago, our local Chinese restaurant, Pancho's ( before Shezuan etc) had it and it was wonderful. the sauce was red. Shin yen dofu (dofu chinese word for tofu) is almond jello. 1/2 milk, 1/2 water, unflavored gelatin, slightly less than box says so it will wiggle more, sugar and almond flavoring from bottle. Cut into 1" cubes or slightly smaller and fold with chilled canned fruit - often fruit cocktail, but also see with Mandarin Oranges (allergic to dem too),peaches and lychee. More see in chinese restaurants or here at Cook Beach Hut. You gonna go meet up wit taropatchers and see Ohana Brown?? Must do!!!! Have fun!!! auntie PS: Auntie Mary and Auntie Bea on Batanes reunion committee!!

Hi Auntie,
Make sense da green peppah.
Wot? One Chinese restaurant wit da name Pancho on top? Does Pancho (da guy) eat taco or tako? An is he related to Sancho Lee?
So if I undahstand you right, Shin yen dofu is not really tofu but get da kine "tofu jiggle" from da gelatin. Eeddah way souns ono! I gon try.
Not shua bout Ohana Brown yet. Da kids comin back to da nest fo "One whole month!" Gotta make ready, yeah? My boy stay comin home from Korea. So glad no mo big kine ocean between us. My daughtah stay comin from Honolulu fo see da bruddah. Happy time comin!
Try ask Auntie(s) if dey stay on da committee fo Maui on Octobah 14,15,16. Exciting!

aloha - considering food and hawai'ians are synonymous, it does sound like a good topic. Haupia easy to make - only maybe 3 ingredients... yum!! Can get good Haupia cake here - I nevah make. My mothah cook easy stuff, hamburger patties, roast, Swanson's chicken pot pie - sick all my life, gone a long time now. So when I get married, learn all hawai'i/polynesian cook, now it's Cook's Beach Hut cuisine!! Some best I eva' had - in fancy hotel in Fiji - hones' - spam cooked w/ coconut milk and other stuff, wrapped in something green - not kalo, seaweed - maybe banana?? of course w/ rice - always have rice... good thing, now I 'lergic to potatoes too. But I don't actually use recipes for anything except baked desserts..... mos' stuff jus' did 'n' dat, whatevah's in the ice box. Hugs - Tell me about tonight!!! See you in Octobah! auntie |
