Just a reminder - Wed Nov 2 is the South Bay Open mic at Espresso Garden on Bascom. EG has new hours, so you can get there as early as you like, if you want to eat early, for example. Sign up board should come out somewhere between 6:30 and 6:45. First 9 acts get 15 minutes to set up and perform. Less acts, we divide the time evenly. You don't have to use the full 15 minutes if you just want to play 1 or 2 songs - ok, too. Feel free to contact me if you want/need for info.

"Number 9". It was known as the "White Album", but the real name was "The Beatles"
Number 6 was really number 1. And he drove a really cool car; A Lotus-Cogsworth (not a true Super 7). Faster actually. My favorite series of all time (TV not car, although I actually owned one; car not TV)
See ya Wednesday,

Hi Raymond,
I'm planning to join in on the fun again. I was practicing tonight in between all the trick-or-treaters. There may be a couple of other new Taropatchers coming to play too. See y'all there!

Looking forward to meeting all you guys. I'll be bringing braddah Art. With your indulgences, may we do just one mele in std tuning (will be Hawaiian though). But the goal is to play some slack, so I like try, k? ...and I'll have one uke ready just in case. Till laters,
Sil |

This is not just a slack key open mic. Performance time is open to anyone performing Hawaiian music in any style. Everyone is invited to attended, playing or not.

Does anyone know if the new Sun Jose Hawaiian Store is open at Eastridge Mall yet? I called several times and the recording said they would be open by end of October, but I want to make sure before we head over there before the open mic.
Fran and I will be carpooling from the East Bay. Bruddah Sil, it will be great to see you and Art at the open mic. Mahalo for sharing some ukulele tricks with my son and me. We had a blast this weekend!

Everyone did such a great job last night. Doug, you sounded great..I can imagine that singing adds to the performance anxiety, no? Sil & Bruddah Art, nice job...I really liked the medley, very nice how you seamlessly segued into YES. Kiwini..smooth..radio hula was great. Da "Roberts" or Da "Kams" nice ohana performance. Fran..impressive, as always. Larry/Julie, you made my eyes well up a bit, you sang with so much aloha. Na La'au Kiekie..good job on Jobim, not easy...decades ago, I played jazz guitar, and attempted ACJ (notice I said attempted). Jerry (is that right?..sorry, not only my eyes are going) quite a trek down to SJ..nice job, and very nice Taylor. Dave, I missed your performance, I'm sure it was good though. See you all next month with my Toys4Tots toys in hand. Thanks Raymond, Dave, Cynthia, Lawrence for being the T'Patch roadies. |

Oh man, what a good time!!! Chicken Skin kine performances. Yeah it's hard to sing and play at the same time, let alone breath too. But fun to do Ku'u Home with you Doug. You know, got lost up there on stage, so thanks Art for letting me do some "jazz", you are a real pro. Nice to place the faces with the names and music. Mahalos, Raymond for organizing the nite. Looking forward to the next times. |
