Hey all slack key troopers! Don't forget there'll be another open mic in O'side at the L&L, the usual 6-8ish. Hope you all can attend. I plan on showing up now that I've taken care of some personnel challenges. As usual, free food for those playing. Bill or Terry, don't forget your amp, or I'll be forced to bring in my tiny-tiny-tiny little 15 watt-er. Yikes!! -slkho

I have a Carvin Acoustic amp if needed. I'll be around this weekend if you still need some help, Rik. |

Slkho-san!
This is Nick the Pilot, and I will try to make it to your shin-dig for the first time. Can you tell me the exact location?
By the way, is it only a slacker thing, or are 'ukes welcome too...? |

Long time no hear, Rik! Good to hear your wisecrackin' voice here on TP. Wish I could join the food and fun at L&L. FYI, your Taropatch CD set is going to Nancy because I didn't have your mailing address. Hope it's not too inconvenient. Jesse Tinsley |

SoCalHaole sez: quote: Can you tell me the exact location?
L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (Oceanside Blvd & College Blvd.) 4225 Oceanside Blvd., Ste. E Oceanside, CA 92056
Take 15 south to 78 west; exit north on College Blvd. It's in a strip center on the southeast corner of College Blvd and Oceanside Blvd.
You can get a map from Yahoo or mapquest. |

I'll be there with one amp. It's an Ultrasound AG50-DS2 -- can only handle one instrument at a time but also has a mic channel so if someone wants to bring a uke or an acoustic bass I think we could mic the second instrument.
There's also a big ol' bass amp on the stage most of the time that seems to live there so we can prob'ly improvise something -- someone bring extra cables just in case.
Directions to the place from up north -- just go 5 South, exit Oceanside Blvd. and head East about 4-5 miles to College. As soon as you pass College turn into the strip mall on the right -- L&L is on the front of the strip mall, facing O'side Blvd.

I'll bring my amp, too. With all the equipment and players, we'll surely outnumber the customers. |

Rik, Sorry no answer mobile phone. I was in Florida and the battery died with my AC charger on the bedstand in Carlsbad. I'll be home this evening. I now have a sweet little koa box that plays in Taro Patch "C" -- my ukulele ki ho'alu. |

Ahh - added pressure to hit the 405/5 and see you folks - especially if I get the CD sets by then. I'm SO jealous listening to the guys rave who've already heard them. It'll be good to see folks, especially since I can't make it to Braddah Kiniki's on Saturday. aloha!! auntie n |

Oops! couple of days past, the plight of the unemployed using public library internet. Good news though, I start a new job Monday. Okay...let's see. 1. Mike, we're not connecting for some reason. Looks like we'll try this weekend, leave me your home phone too. The cell thing is too limited. 2. Keith so glad your alive, see you at Auntie Robin Tarr's get-together this evening. Good to know you weren't probed. Say aloha to Suzy & Oscar. If Suzy comes, I'll play R-Hula for her. 3. PuaKai, looks like we're coming to your kanikapila thingee. Tell Patty Zoom says hi. -slkho |

Rik has a JOB? Good for you!!! Hey - my plan is still to come on down this evening. I do have your CD set and have been listening to mine non-stop. It'll be SO good to see folks - it's been too long - still need to find the way to "Beam me up/down, Scotty!" Nick! You mean don't have to fly tonight? Two new lessons-learned on Monday: no put battery for pick-up in bag with nail clippers... gets VERY hot. And: etiquette lesson: no aim neck at guy next to you while tuning, just like no point gun at person - both can be dangerous. See you!!!!! auntie n |

Sistah Pua!
One of my fellow-pilots wants to learn the 'ukulele. However, you are right, we might not make it, as this is our busy season. How much time at L&L do slackers get vs. 'ukers? (If it is mainly slackers, we may not drive all the way out there.) |
