Awright, you too, that was a real kick in the head getting real time feedback. And Sarah, thanks eversomuch for letting us know that Sadinia is Gardenia. Every little bit helps the song come to life.
Thanks also to Jim Cramer (and gang) who sent an email during the show, and to Uncle Kevin and Ikaika for adding the icing.
The folks at KMUD were sure impressed with the number of internet listeners we pulled, I told them the secret is to spend a lot of time hanging out on Taropatch.net, where you meet the sweetest people!!!

Can't believe I missed the show and real-time feedback. Sorry Fran. Tied up driving to dinner with no computer in the car. Anybody record it? |

Never fear, Andy, we promoed the heck out Taropatch.net!! The station was buzzing with the number of internet connections they were seeing, and from all over the country!
So, how often can I stand to make the trip (about 4 hours in a 6 speed Acura TL) if they invite me back??? And can I make the same time if my supervisor (ku`u Lina) is along?

I know you were absolutely perfect. Hugs, Julie |

Fran, a technoid question. Why couldn't you stay in a quiet room at home and connect up to KMUD in a 2 way web connection? I know you have the sound equipment for a sound studio and DAW. There should be some software, like a teleconferencing program, that could add that link. That way, the travel time would be eliminated. If we, and Kevin, can hear you 2500 miles away, and call back in over a land line, why not close the loop via TCPIP? I don't know the expense, but, there should be some software out there. Sorta like what KBob has done, but without lags and dropouts.

Reid, I'm not sure what the issues are, but these folks are running on a shoe string. And while I have plenty of gear, I'm lacking a quiet space. That's why I have to wait up until midnight to do any recording.
Speaking of gear, the vocal got an EV RE20, but the guitar was miked with an SM58. I kind of winced when I saw that, but I was a guest <grin>.
Jim, apparently Keke only caught about half the show. He's supposed to be sending me whatever he got.

Aloha mai kaua e Fran! Sorry I missed it...I'm sure you were awesome! Funny about the SM58. I've been seeing them in more and more stations. I remember once having to share a single, battered 58 for both guitar and vocal! |

Well... If you unscrewed the Ball-shaped Pop filter you would have converted it to an SM57!
...but seriously... I am sure you sounded just fine.
P.S. wasn't able to tune in over the Net, too much to do in the Lab.
Isn't radio fun! You have to strain your imagination to see the all the people staring or laughing at you, instead of just thinking you can pick them out in the crowd from on stage! heh... heh...

Dusty, this place is great comic relief from a real life that includes a 92 year old father with hallucinations, and undiagnosed physical problems, in the ER. And a few other things going on, too.
Posting about friends and art beats brooding about bad stuff that I can't control.
So, thanks for the smilies, the music and the friendship; they come in handy on my end.

Reid!!! Stay out of the ER! Stay away from doctors and drugs!!! Those things signify BAD!!! just kidding - but that's what my 95 yr old dad tells me. and he follows his advice - course he doesn't hurt like you do. Take good care of yourself! Don't you think you'd feel much better in the winter if you lived where it stays warm?? malama pono n |
