OK, now I'm confused...
I read that Keola will perform at Montalvo, then I read that John will be there as well, and then I read that it's Keola and Moanalani at Montalvo. So I have my tickets, but who exactly will be there playing?

Moanalani is Keola's wife, and she performs hula when she tours with him. As for John, he was originally NOT going to be at all of the shows, but I suspect that has changed (for the better, of course.) |

Haole Boy--see you there. I'll be the one in the flannel aloha shirt. No, wait, this is Minnesota, we'll all have 'em. Never mind. |

I am going to be in Sacramento for work and will be driving down to San Jose. Sadly, I have a feeling that I will not make it in time for the concert. I'll see. |

Hi Andy, Just a reminder; Vacaville is only 35 miles from Sacramento? There is the Kani on Dec. 10 and there is always lots of guitars to test drive in Vacaville. Have a safe trip, Jerry
BTW; Vacaville is on the way to San Jose. |

Hi Andy, my experience has been that it's about 2.5 hours to Sacramento from Santa Cruz. Saratoga should thereofre be about a 2 hour drive from Sac. Gee, I hope we get to see you... Aloha nui, Julie |

I was one of 350 people at The Cedar in MN and saw Keola,Moana, and John and also Donely. The performance was as much about laughter and having fun as it was about great slack key music. I didn't go expecting to have that much fun but Keola and Moana made it very enjoyable and gave a great show. I also met Russel Letson at the workshop. Thanks for taking the picture Russel.

Aloha ahiahi e kakou,
I've asked Andy, our fearless Admin leader, to post a photo I took of Keola and Moana, for those of you who were not able to make to one of their shows.
They do not allow cameras in their shows, but I had special permission from Donley, and I took these without flash, being ever mindful of the people around me, to whom I apologized profusely during the break before my upcoming sins....

Mahalo to everyone who came to the shows and said hello, and I hope had a good time.
Very special thanks to Julie and Larry for such a beautiful setup for the stage at Montalvo.
And very special thanks to Eric Strout and wife Linda who sold CDs for us. And did a great job in Kent. Also thanks to Greg Porter for rousing introductions in Kent.

Picasa won't let me link the photos. I updated with a link to my album. (Sorry, Julie!)
Not perfect but it works. |
