Congratulations to the producers who just won the Hawaiian music Grammy for 2007 -- for "Legends of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar: Live from Maui"!!
And it couldn't have happened without the expertise of island musicians George Kahuomoku, Ledward Kaapana, Keoki Kahumoku, Richard Ho`opi`i, Dennis Kamakahi, Cyril Pahinui, Martin Pahinui, and Bobby Ingano.

Mea culpa -- that should read "Wayne Wong", not Reis |

Congratulations, Did anyone see this on stage? I walked in and out of the tvroom but I thought they gave these out in the morning. Would have loved to see Dennis Kamakahi accepting a trophy on stage. |

Uncle Dennis wasn't planning on being there. I saw him last Sat and he said he was going home after Felton. |

Regarding who actually gets a Grammy of their own -- this was a compilation album (first-time release, of multiple artists; not to be confused with "anthology" which is a re-release of previously-released material).
For compilation albums, award is only given to producer(s) -- musicians who performed on the album get no trophy, but forever get to say they were "on a Grammy-award winning album". |

Congrats to all the artists involved.
This album is really good. Hopefully I can actually go to one of these (weekly) concerts over in Maui someday.
Way to go, guys!
