What a night! The most INTIMATE show the guys probably played ever.

When we walked in for Sound check in Felton last afternoon...there was certainly something different. The staff at Don Quixote's were running around frantic. The candles were being lit and the sun was setting fast.

The power in the entire downtown area (all of two blocks) was down!

As the guys began to set up on stage, knowing the 'SHOW MUST GO ON', our great friend and savior Julie Hendrix went out of town to find us some camping lanterns for the stage.

As 7:30 dawned upon us, Jon Yamasato went up to introduce Herb to begin a truly acoustic, unpluged show. In a full house of new and familiar faces, Herb began his show with grace and humor. The romantic candle light setting just helped us feel even more connected to Herb and music as we all listened intently as he performed and shared his love through his incredible talents. Each note was precise and beautiful and I felt so lucky to be there.

With the addition of Jon Yamasato and David Kamakahi, the night went on and on with the three of them up on stage with like they were in the living room playing and joking around. David and Jon's harmony together was 'heaven' as my good friend Dana put it. A big treat for all of us was to hear David sing NYC, a song about his dream to seek the world. And Jon was amazing, featuring many songs like 'How can I Get Over' and 'Green Rose Hula' that have been huge hits on the Hawaiian charts.

The night was magical and quite unforgettable for all!

If you can make it, tonight or another show on this tour, it is sure to be a special time.

Too bad they did not have one of those little Carvins like George used to carry around which has a built in battery that runs for 4-8 hours. (But who would have expected the power to be down!)

In any case, we will be seeing them/you shortly at the Little Fox tonight!

The concert was truly special....literally "Lights Out". Susie, it was nice meeting you last night.

The only things missing were the tradewinds, the moon and the coconut trees. Otherwise, just another delightful night of kanikapila by candlelight...

Last night was a gorgeous concert at the Little Fox. Such harmonies!

Herb, David and Jon did a superb job.

(in spite of the power actually being turned on!)

You could tell it was something special because there were lots of good players in the audience. Even Tennyson Lum of Ka Ehu Kai and Steven Espaniola were in the audience.

Personally had a good chance to chat with David about his and Lisa's upcoming wedding and honeymoon plans too.
