In between performances Herb Ohta Jr, David Kahumoku, and Jon Yamasato was at Borders in Fair Oaks, CA today at noon. It was da first time seeing Herb (and friends) live.
First a BIG BIG BIG Mahalo to Herb (and friends) fo coming all da way up hea and fo sharing yo music wit us! It was awesome to meet you!
I had such a good time. Herb played a tune from his new CD and closed wit his "Gm Fleas" (which according to him, was da first time dis trip dat it was played correctly), great fun. David played his tune about New York and an awesome "Turkey in the Straw (Led Kaapana)", the trio did a good rendition of Green Rose Hula, and Jon wen buss out some old-school contemporary stuff.
I wish Herb played mo stuff :-) His music was awesome! Anwyays, dey are performing tonight in Grass Valley, CA at 8pm at da Center for the Arts. I really wish I could make it up to da foothills fo see dem again tonight. If any of you can, still get 3 hours left ... you should go see um.
