I've found that almost every amplified 'ukulele has finger noise, whether it's a soundboard transducer or undersaddle pickup. I think it's because the tension is so low that it must be highly amplified, picking up the fingers tapping on the strings. Finding the right combination of pickup and placement is a challenge. But I think the soundboard transducer is the best choice. Jesse Tinsley
Playing around with the pickup I found that turning down the bass really reduces the finger thunk sound considerably. When I used a Pignose (which has a small speaker, therefore not much bass) I hardly detected finger noise. I found the same when I turned down bass on my Fender Princeton. Rich
