The Southern California Slack Key Fest is going to be January 20, 2008 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
It's going to be great! Featured performers: Dennis Kamakahi! George Kahumoku! Cyril Pahinui! Ozzie Kotani! Jeff Peterson! Owana Salazar! Makana! Jim "Kimo" West! Steven Espaniola!
Plus good food, an opportunity drawing for cool prizes, really good hula and some awesome guest performers so you don't want to miss this! People are coming from as far as the east coast for this, believe it or not, so get your tickets now at www.socalslackkeyfest.com and reserve the seats you want while they are still available. Yes, it is reserved seating, NOT general admission.
For you people coming from out of town, please consider using the travel sponsors who have donated so generously to the cause. At least give them a call to compare prices and give them the chance to win your business.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions through here or info @ socalslackkeyfest.com. This is going to be an awesome show so let's spread the excitement!!!

Mahalo!
I think the automatic email link on this website is set to the incorrect email address. I got a return email when I used it. If you want to email them you might try the email address shown above (with the spaces removed?). Dave |

Sorry about that, people. yes, it's been fixed on the website. Also, i don't know why but those spaces in the email address can't be helped. |

Don't forget, too, that for those of us who live far away...this could be a long weekend holiday due to Martin Luther King holiday on the Monday after the event. Paul and I JUST might surprise you guys.... |

We got us front row center seating. The online ticketing system is easy to use and real smooth.

Just a reminder - this is an excellent Christmas present, especially considering the show and the prices: Best seats are $38, almost as good seats are $28. The venue is close to LAX and Mitch has negotiated good rates for staying at the Residence Inn in Manhattan Beach which is about 1 mile from the theater. I think the basic room is $100/night, and $175 for a suite; I'll be sure about this and correct if I'm wrong. Mele Kalikimaka! n |

It is going to be a great festival but unfortunately for me (with my slack key hat on) I will be publically abusing myself in a socially acceptable fashion on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb. (Which will be fortunate for me as long as my helmet stays on.)
Can't miss that first week of the season, Sandy |
