There have been some posts recently about Ron Loo who is mentioned in this article. http://starbulletin.com/2003/01/21/features/story2.html

If you're on O`ahu, maybe you'd me interested in some of the courses at the Hawaii Music Institute?

Oh Jeez Andy. Just another reason to wish we lived in Hawai`i and regret we can't figure out how to do it. There is never *anything* like this here, even though we live in one of the most densely populated parts of the country, and, supposedly, the wealthiest (we ain't wealthy - must be those folks in Greenwich and Stamford). I suppose I could learn to be a welder here, but never do you encounter cultural classes that are put on because people really want them - and cheap, too, especially when considering the quality of the teachers. Imagine, being taught singing and stage presence by Melveen Leed! The same things happen on Maui, too. At the Bailey House and at MACC, not to mention all Kevin's work at Baldwin and Uncle Sol. Keali`i once gave a Bailey House class on Hawaiian swearwords - they had been mostly suppressed by the missionaries. What a hoot that would have been!

Sigh.....

Hey, I grew up in Greenwich and I'm not wealthy (not materially, anyway).

Craig
My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can.
