Pauline, when do we get to hear you play?! (Seriously.)
I just added the twelfth contribution to SoundClick, Kahili's absolutely gorgeous arrangement of Queen's Jubilee (track 8 on the TaroPatch.net CD). The intro alone will put tears in your eyes.
At some point down the line, after we get a few more contributions, I'm thinking of putting together a CD with the all the SoundClick stuff on it for those of you who don't have the bandwidth to dowload them all (or who don't have the means to put them on a CD). If anyone with a song up is against this, please let me know via email at craig @ patchett.com when you get a chance. Also let me know if you don't want your song downloadable as an MP3...I can set it up so it is streamable only.

And Dusty, congratulations...you now hold the #1 slot in SoundClick's World Music chart!

Just wanted to let you guys know how much I'm enjoying your music. The new addition by Kahili is quite wonderful. The nylon string guitar can give a beautiful bittersweet tinge to slack key, and this track brings that quality out as well as anything I've ever heard. OK, I'll try to calm down now...

Aloha Kakou Mahalo nui loa for the kind words. I hope everyone enjoys listening to the song as much as I did playing it. I tried it on my 12 string Ovation, but just didn't sound right to me as a instrumental. I think the classical guitar gave it that nahenahe (sweet) feeling. I've been asked to put this song to tab but every time I try I get a different song. Oh well! I'll keep trying, might get it done by christmas.

No new songs today, but I just wanted to mentioned that the ability to download a free MP3 of "Na Ka Po" has been turned off in order to respect Keola's copyright and the terms of the permission he gave for the song to be uploaded. You can still listen to a streamed version.
Also, Fran Guidry is now providing background music for the home page, and therefore moving his way up the charts. Go Fran!

OK, just put another song up from Mainkaukau...his version of Willy's Tune by Uncle Ray (posted with Ray's permission). Fun song, great rendition, so go check it out at SoundClick as soon as you have a chance.
Traffic to SoundClick has been slow lately, so Piff still hasn't tasted the charts but hopefully the rush to listen to this, our 13th SoundClick song, will push him up there!
Anyone else with a song they'd like added to SoundClick? Let me know if so, even if you're not sure how to get it recorded...there are plenty of people here more than happy to walk you through the process and provide whatever help you need. |

Thank you Craig for your time and expertise in posting uncle Ray Kane's song (Willy's Tune) and thank you to Uncle Ray Kane for his generosity and understanding of the true meaning of aloha. Unconditional sharing can be pretty cool.
PS: When I first experienced the "Soundclick" websight, I got so excited that I posted one of my songs (Hanalei Mosquito). Please check it out. The song is played in slack-key. It's not traditional Hawaiian music but I consider the song to be Hawaiian. Mahalo for your time. |

Jeepers, I've been gone for a long, long time. When did all this happen? TaroPatch music on the web? How absolutely awesome it is to hear y'all play. :)
I should get my N-Track back online and see if I can not embarrass myself LOL I've just gotten back into playing after a few months off, it'll be fun to see the faces at open mic nights again. I'm sure they'll think I've lost my mind breaking up their weekly depression-a-thon when I break out into something (hopefully) as beautiful as these peices here.
Cheers! - Greg

Hey Craig,
With the renewal of this post, I dropped in at the soundclick page today. Just curious, any increase in activity since the mention in AG magazine? Even though I have the CD, it was nice listening to people's submissions online today. |

Interesting question Andy. There was a noticeable increase in activity 4/19-4/25 and also over the past few days...I have no idea due to what.
Any chance of putting a link to the SoundClick page on the TaroPatch.net homepage? Otherwise newcomers have to dig through the forums to learn about the site. |
