Huh? Even in his own use of the name, I have never seen the `okina used. The person naming him Alika may have given the name as the anglicized form of Alex or Alexander.

Even in reference to things arctic (ʻĀ lika;which uses the `okina and kahakou)...it's still an anglicized version of a word the Hawaiians had no use for.

It seems the one giving him the name did not intend for him to be compared to the arctic. Or maybe they did.
