Multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Noland Conjugacion, better known as Brother Noland, will be in concert at Pakele Live! with Tony Solis this week, celebrating the release of his newest CD “Hawaiian Man.”
Brother Noland's "Hawaiian Man" CD
Known for performing a variety of genres, and probably best known for his hit “Coconut Girl,” this new release is a long-awaited traditional Hawaiian album. It includes a number of familiar songs, as well as a remake of his popular song “Pua Lane” - and a new version of “Mr. Sun Cho Lee” that made me laugh out loud when I heard the first verse.
Some of you may not know that in addition to his long and celebrated music career, Brother Noland has written several books, including The Lessons of Aloha and The Lessons of Aloha: Stories of the Human Spirit. He also spends a great deal of time working with children, helping at-risk youth by teaching them guitar, ‘ukulele and composition; has set up arts programs in public parks; and cares for acreage on Molokai in order to preserve Hawaiian customs, indigenous plants and animal species.
Those who caught his last appearance at Pakele Live! know how much fun we had, so please join us either in person or online this Thursday, April 2, from 6 – 8 p.m. HST at the Pakele Lounge in the Ala Moana Hotel (lobby level – and you can park free next door at the Ala Moana shopping center!).
