Itself a slang for....
calcones..........Spanish for undergarments...

Well, sort of. . .
"calzon" is undershorts or panties, "calzoncillos" is underpants. Don't know why the Southern Calif guys pronounced it with a "ch" as in "choners" but they did, according to dear husband who grew up in Santa Barbara in the 60's.
