Gary, just spray some more of that horrible herbal throat spray! It's good stuff. Can you tell us the name of that spray again?

SHOOTZ!!!

It is called "Singers Saving Grace." I was first introduced to this herbal spray at the LA Ho'olaulea in 2003 when our group "Kahale Ka'a" band opened the first day. The humidity was low and sucking all the moisture out of everything. I was talking about my dry throat when one wahine came to me and said this would work. I gave it a couple of sprays 30 minutes before I had to go on. It was like WOW!!! It's like I had been warming up for hours. Sang my heart out , did "Alika" for longtime and brought down the crowd. LOL

I can't stand the taste of it, but Momi likes to use it.

She'll have a disc of more photos for you (and alla Da Oddah Guyz) as soon as we recover from Folklife - but she says you not suppoze call her "Ante," cause you moa makule.

Marvelous footage, Lee - thanks for sharing it. Too bad I sing Hawaiian with such a midwestern accent...

Thanks Lee - I have a big cheese-eating grin on my face after watching that footage! I saw that woman at the beginning of the "Happy Feet" segment - I think she camped out at the Mural stage, because that's where I saw her too. I'm especially glad you got footage of Mark, whose performance I didn't get to see.

Yow, so that's where I was all weekend! Nice work, Lee.

Folklife has changed so much in the, yes, 32 years since I started going. Electric guitars? Rock and/or Roll? Punky Reggae? Hip Hop Slam Dance Jugbands? Hey, it's all folk music to somebody.

But what will never change is the chance to play music with friends new and old until your fingers bleed and your face hurts from smilin'.

Thanks for all the fun.

Looking at film - Gaahhh! I no believe I so bald! Shoulda worn hat! Oh, well. All these posts bring back some wonderful memories. I also had the pleasure of Maggie and Chico from Sweet Aloha staying with me. The Northwest Folklife festival is the world's largest FREE folk festival (they will and NEED donations to keep going). I've been going, and performing, since 1982. I MC'd the rock stage Friday, backed up the slackers and jammed on Saturday, played with the hulau and Da Oddah Guyze on Sunday, played old time banjo for a couple of hours Monday with my buddies Al Hart & Howie Meltzer, and handed out sodas in the Hospitality Room for 3 hours. Also danced on & off over the weekend (squares, contras, Cajun, Zydeco and swing). Busy, but an absolute blast! It's worth the trip, folks.

The thing we laughed was one Hercules guitar stand so small it can be packed in one carry on bag. I put my name on because i used it at Aloha Camp. Kory said "e came wit your name on top awreddy" I said "yeah so I had to buy um".

It was a pleasure to play for the Halau and Bill and Gloria. The show must go on.
